Jindra Family Blog: Texas Trip

It's been a while since I've updated the blog. In late October/early November, we headed to Texas for two weeks. Brian had to go there for work and the babies and I tagged along so we could visit family and friends in Dallas, Georgetown, and San Antonio. We had a wonderful time with Brian's family. Sofie and Jackson's Aunt Lisa and Great Grandma Dorothy got to meet them for the first time. They especially loved playing with Great Grandma Dorothy's shoes and having Aunt Lisa read to them and feed them. Of course they also enjoyed seeing their Grammy and Pappy again, too. Ann (Grammy) was able to be with us for all but 2 days of our trip, and thank goodness for that because while Brian was working it was not easy being on my own in an unbaby-proofed hotel room. However, the babies LOVED exploring all the different places where we stayed. I think Jackson spent 98% of the trip playing with suitcases, just pulling himself up on them and cruising around! Both babies started to army crawl shortly before our trip, and came home speed demons!

We were on the go the whole time... flew in to Dallas and spent two nights there, then the kids and I drove to Georgetown and spent 1 night at Brian's parent's house, then Ann and I (and babies of course) drove to San Antonio ahead of everyone else and checked in to the resort where we stayed for 4 nights. Mike, Lisa, Brian and Dorothy were also there for part of the time. Then it was back to Georgetown for 2 nights and back to Dallas for the last 4 nights. Needless to say, I am now a pro at packing and unpacking! While in Dallas we also got to see the Adams family (friends of ours who used to live here in Jax), Ann's best friend, Lynnette, and Brian's Aunt Lucy, Uncle Robert, and cousin Kelly. I'm so glad we were able to make the trip to see everyone! We enjoyed every part of our trip except for sleeping... the twins did NOT nap or sleep well during those 2 weeks!

Once again, Sofie and Jackson handled the airplane travel very well. They were much older than the first two times we flew with them, so we really had to keep them entertained and "busy" while flying. We pulled out all the tricks... books, toys, bottles, sippy cups, etc., but of course they were more fascinated by the window shades, magazines/barf bags in the seatbacks, our drinks, the peanut packages, and the seat neighbor's jewelry and purse. On our way home, Brian let us girls use his first class ticket (he often gets free upgrades because of all his miles), so Sofie enjoyed riding in style with the fancy water bottle and banana they gave her. I'm sure everyone around us was very appreciative because it kept her very quiet for a big chunk of the flight!

It's the week before Thanksgiving and I finally feel like I'm done playing "catch up" from being gone for so long. Luckily the babies started sleeping better as soon as they got back to their own cribs (and so did their mama!). Here are some pics of our Texas fun...
